On Wednesday night (Nov. 1), the "Revenge" artist posted a snippet of a new track on Instagram, captioning the post, "I said I was going to stop making 'music.'" He added, "But... I don't this consider this 'music' 😈." While XXX didn't reveal any further details about the track, the song features the rapper's signature lo-fi sound with distorted bass.
Last week, the Florida rapper revealed he would no longer be making music due to the mental abuse he receives. "Sad to announce I will not be making or releasing any music," he said during an Instagram story. "I am tired of being mentally abused for trying to help people, I'm tired of the hate, I'm done."
A few days later, XXX said he would get back to making new music under one condition. "If you want me to make music, tell Ski Mask [The Slump God] to be my friend again," he said during another Instagram video. "Tell Ski Mask to be my friend again and I will make music. Tell him to be my friend again."
According to XXX, the two had a falling out over business relations. "But he put a business perspective before a personal relationship, and I've been with him as a friend and as a brother for a very long time," he said. "I mean, it's just on some other shit to be honest. It's not on anything I've done wrong. I can't even say I've done anything to him, and I wouldn't go on the Internet and express that if I didn't care about the relationship, but you already know how it goes. They use you to where they wanna go and then part ways. And I've been used a lot if you haven't noticed."
Ski Mask eventually replied to the rapper's claims, saying he had to distance himself from the friendship. "[I'll] always love that alien-looking nigga named XXX, but I have to distance myself because it's like nobody would see me as an individual rapper if I don't," Ski revealed. "On top of that, that nigga crazy as hell."
