Solange Delivers Dope Performance at Alternative Inauguration Event, Peace Ball
Last night, Busboys & Poets put together a non-partisan event, Peace Ball, at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in D.C. to celebrate strides made over the past four years in the areas of marriage equality, criminal justice reform and health care. Alice Walker, Danny Glover, Van Jones, Vagina Monologues playwright Eve Ensler, and Esperanza Spalding were all on hand for the event.
Solange, who was introduced to the stage by black resistance icon Angela Davis, performed a handful of hits from her acclaimed album, A Seat At The Table, as well, including “Cranes In the Sky,” “Weary,” “Mad” and “Don’t Touch My Hair,” much to the delight of the packed crowd.
